Kyla Wilkinson collaborated with Speck to develop Sparkee, a groundbreaking "wireless" charging device. Sparkee redefines the concept of wireless charging with its two-part system, featuring a detachable charging pack for enhanced mobility and a base that connects to power outlets, combining functionality with innovative design.

The Details

In the electrical engineering of Sparkee, the primary challenge was incorporating the Qi charging coil into a design that was both efficient and aesthetically pleasing. We navigated the trade-off between power and size, ensuring that the device was powerful yet not bulky. Our team worked diligently on the placement of essential components like the LED indicator and the USB-C port, ensuring they complemented the device's form. We also focused on ensuring that Sparkee was compatible with a wide range of phones, incorporating mag-safe technology and providing an additional magnet for phone cases, making it a versatile charging solution.

We focused on maintaining the product's design integrity, ensuring that the bold color options and the peek-a-boo window over the Qi Coil were implemented as envisioned. Our team also worked on optimizing the manufacturing process to ensure Sparkee was produced efficiently without compromising on quality.
